Dear Monash Community Bicycle User Group (McBUG),
Four inner city Councils have asked Bicycle Victoria to coordinate a
count of bike riders on 'Super Tuesday' 6 March 2007 to help the
Inner Melbourne Action Group (IMAP) better understand where riders go
and where the priorities lie in their bike network.
It will also help us all to encourage them to spend more money on
bike facilities. This is a great opportunity for to provide the
evidence of the current cycling boom.
You can assist in this by signing up for a 2 hour session (7am-9am)
as a volunteer counter.
When you sign up to be a counter and nominate Monash "McBUG" as your
group, a donation of $50 per volunteer counter will be made to the
group. This money will be used to support current cycling programs at
Monash such as cycling breakfasts, the bikery etc.
It is currently planned to staff 90 sites across inner Melbourne
between 7-9am. The 90 sites are in the City of Melbourne, Yarra, Port
Phillip and Stonnington (west of Kooyong Rd).
Each volunteer counter will receive a free Super Tuesday T-Shirt.
Please use this link to register:
