Are you a student who rides for transport because it saves you money?
If so, Ride On magazine wants to talk to you!
Ride On magazine is the bimonthly member magazine for Bicycle
Victoria. In our Feb Mar 09 issue, we are publishing a feature
article that looks at bike riding as a great way to save money. We're
looking for people from a range of demographics, including a family,
and students, who cite economy as one of the reasons they ride.
We have a writer starting work on Monday (17th Nov) on this feature,
and we'd like to provide her with a list of people to talk to. She
will ask you questions about how riding a bike has helped you save
money, and some of those quotes could be used in the article.
Another part of the article is the images. We'd like to have
photographs of perhaps three people who have been quoted in the
article. (Not everyone who is interviewed will be photographed.) If
you're interested in having your photo in Ride On please also let us
know. Our photographer would meet you in an inner-suburban location,
at a time that is convenient for you both (probably in the week
starting Mon 24 November) and take some fairly quick shots of you on
your bicycle. We would like our models to be wearing whatever it is
they usually wear when they ride to work. This doesn't have to be
lycra, in fact we'd like prefer see a range of riding attire to
reflect the diversity of riders. You don't have to have a fancy
bicycle either! You just have to be able to pose on your bike and
smile at the camera!
If you think you can help us, and you're interested in being
interviewed and/or photographed, please email or ring as soon as you
are able and I'll try to get back to you by Tuesday next week. Or if
you know anyone else who you think fits the role, feel free to pass
this on.
