Hi Bron,
Yep, stuff planned at each campus see:
http://fsd.monash.edu.au/green/campaigns/campaign/ride-work-day-2008
Also been posted here in July and is listed on the McBUG calender of
events with reminder alarm. Various awareness means being utilised
across the campuses (word of mouth, e-newsletters, plasma screens,
posters etc..)
As breaking news!:
In an unprecedented show of support for "Ride to Work Day" and
sustainable transport, the student presidents from across all Monash
campuses have unanimously thrown their weight behind the day. The
presidents have presented a letter (See McBUG Files page) on behalf
of all Monash students to senior university management requesting that
they demonstrate their commitment by either cycling, walking, car pool
or taking public transport on Wednesday 15th October.
In response to this and in support of the day the Chancellor Dr Alan
Finkel has replied that he will ride from his home to his offices in
support of the event. This sets a great example to students and staff
and demonstrates that along with other senior management Monash is
serious about environmental issues and is "walking the talk" by
demonstrating a real commitment to the "Going Green" iniative
Regards
D
