| Notes: | Spread the word!, Many women would love to try cycling but are put off by the perceived lack of introductary events. Well here is a great way to try cycling out in a supported ride. So if you know soemeone who'd be interested let them know. Women of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in a scenic group ride from Carlton to Kew Boulevard, returning for Brunetti coffee and lunch at the Women’s Hub. Cycling experts will be on hand to provide practical advice on everything from changing a tyre to staying safe in traffic. You can then cheer on the professional riders as they compete in the Amy Gillett Cup and the famous Circuit Race along Lygon Street. Details: Sign in from 10am, ride briefing 10:30am, ride commences 11am Women’s Hub, Corner Faraday and Lygon Streets, Carlton (outside Brunetti) $30 including GST Amy Gillett Cup 2pm + Stage 6 Jayco Herald Sun Tour 3pm Proceeds will be donated to the Amy Gillett Foundation, whose mission is to reduce death and injury between cyclists and motorists Includes: 20 km supported ride from Carlton to Kew Boulevard (return) – participants will be able to ride with women with similar abilities and fitness levels Brunetti lunch and coffee Ride Angels to offer guidance and encouragement Training and preparation tips Women’s Hub – exclusive trackside area for participants in the Brunetti Women’s Coffee Club Ride Cycling 101 – hands-on practical advice about bike maintenance and helpful hints on staying safe while cycling in traffic and with other cyclists You'll need to bring: Bike, helmet and a water bottle | |
