Sorry, can't help, other than to suggest using Malvern rd, I commuted
from Cameron st Richmond to Monash for about 18 months and used Church
st/Chappel st, Malvern rd, Waverley rd then Scotchmans ck path to
Ferntree gully rd then Ferntree gully rd, Clayton rd and Bayview av.
Generally safer, faster, better lit, better drained and better
maintained than the bike track.
Like a lot of bike paths it seems that it is viewed as acceptable to
close it with no warning and no detour.

ps another month has passed and still no sign of the North rd bike
path being completed and ped. lights activated, although the old bike
lane was bulldozed in November/December last year.
