Trail detour Gardiners Creek Trail   Message List

Dear Monash BUG,

I have just arrived home after cycling back from Monash to Richmond and
encountering the new detour on Gardiners Creek path - and am sitting here with
steam coming from my ears.

Has anyone else had the pleasure so far? For those of you who have yet to enjoy
the experience of this dreadfully signposted, dangerous, exhaust-riddled,
"temporary" (1 year!!!) path detour....which was clearly designed by someone
driving around in a 4WD....let me give you a summary. It needs some serious
re-consideration.

At a time when global warming and petrol prices are leading the news bulletin
each night, how ironic that bicycle riders are being discouraged so we can build
bigger and better roads for petrol guzzling machines.

Any suggestions of who we talk to about this?

Cheers,

Jean Spinks.
