Hi Folks,
Spotted this in my monthly review of cycling mentions in the
Victorian print media 9Copy of article below). RACV are running
a "Redspot" survey and are asking for cyclist input. Worth adding any
spots you know about on the way to / from Monash campuses.

Last chance to vent
Leader - June 30, 2008
THIS is the last week for frustrated drivers, pedestrians, cyclists
and public transport users to vent their spleen about traffic
congestion through the RACV-Leader Community Newspapers Redspot
Survey.
The survey, which finishes on Friday, July 4, relies on road users
identifying the redspots that cause frustration and delays around
Melbourne. It could be an intersection, a tram stop or just a section
of road that gets you hot under the collar.
The survey is a crucial way for the State Government to find redspots
around Melbourne that need fixing.
The 2006 survey, which prompted more than 6000 responses, generated
$135 million from governments to fix the redspots.
We invite road users to not only fill out the Redspot survey, but
also tell their local Leader their story about the impact congestion
has on their life: do you leave home earlier to avoid the crush? Have
you decided to take an alternative route? Just send your local Leader
an email with the details of how congestion affects you.
RACV research shows that 89 per cent of people think that congestion
has got worse in the past five years. And 85 per cent are forecasting
that it will deteriorate further. RACV experts will analyse the
survey results and work with VicRoads, councils and the Department of
Transport to help resolve the congestion. Results will be published
in Leader newspapers and RoyalAuto. The survey is held every two
years. To tell us your local redspots, fill out the survey on this
page, or go to www.leadernews.com.au and click on the link.
