WFTDA Launches National Poster Design Competition for 2007 National Championships- Texas Shootout

Calling all graphic artists! The Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) has launched a national poster design competition for its 2007 National Championships, dubbed Texas Shootout, which will be hosted by the Texas Rollergirls in Austin, Texas September 29th and 30th.

According to Jennifer Wilson, WFTDA Board of Directors member and retired Texas Rollergirl skater, "Austin is the birthplace of the women's flat track roller derby revolution, so it's only appropriate that the top ranked flat track derby leagues in the nation converge on Austin to see who's the best of the best."

The top eight teams from across the country will duke it out for the title of WFTDA champions. The WFTDA currently has 39 member leagues that represent almost every state in the US. This year's WFTDA championship bout highlights the top four teams from both the Eastern and Western Divisions. Representing the best of the West are all-star teams from Rat City Rollergirls of Seattle, Tucson Rollerderby, Texas Rollergirls, and Kansas City Roller Warriors. The top four teams from the Eastern Division will be decided at the Eastern Regional Tournament held in Columbus, Ohio this August.

The two-day derby festival takes place at the Austin Convention Center and will also showcase bands, scrimmages, games, and merchandise. Tickets and two-day passes for this event are at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Final poster size is 11"x17" plus bleed. 4 color, one sided. Please submit a high quality PDF with crop marks and 1/8" bleed. PDF files are encourage, but we can also accept 300 dpi TIFF or Adobe Illustrator EPS with fonts outlined.
