Re: [mnrg] Help choosing skates

I agree with KJK~ the roller skates as they've stated "Roller Derby Skates" they're not really a roller derby skates first of all. Secondly, they're super uncomfortable. Seriously, if you would like to skate around the Calhoun or Isle or Harriet...you're feet will be helpless and very very hurting!!

Most of girls's and the actual roller derby skate are from Sin City *runs by our derby sista Ivanna S. Pankin* http://www.sincityskates.com or used to our sponsor Low Price skates http://www.lowpriceskates.com or you can try to shop in http://www.skates.com  - Yes, please do be aware that there's so many different option to build your own skate for your comfort, speed, have I mentioned comfort??!!! *Sorry, before I found my comfy skates, I went thru 3 pairs* and trust me, I have 7 different wheels for different occasions, some of our girls own more pairs of skates and wheels. - Yes, EXPENSIVE!!!!!! *depends what you get...** I know Roller Garden is super helpful~

well I hope the links helps, good luck!!

NO!  NO!  NO!  Run directly away from these!

These Cobra things don't have adjustable trucks.  That's fine if you want to skate in one long, straight line and never do any kind of turning at all.

If you want instant gratification and don't want to pay and wait for shipping then go to rink that sells skates.  Roller Garden in St. Louis Park has a fairly knowledgeable skate shop staff.  Be warned though, you'll be paying more in the long run.  Try Sin City Skates or Low Price Skates online.

There's another post around here with skate suggestions.  Definitely take a look at that.  I think there's some folks going to Skateville in Burnsville on Wednesday.  If any current RollerGirls or Rocky or any other MNRG peeps are there please don't hesitate to ask questions!  I'm going to try to be there... I hope....
