The player with the 3,598 points, Fonda Dicks, had her high-school
career at Moravia overlap with Molly Van Benthuysen (sometimes spelled
Van Venthuysen), who is not Molly Kazmir, but for a time was Molly
Bolin, the star of the Women's Basketball League from 1978-81. As Paul
has also pointed out, Molly Bolin was a great player, but she wasn't
Fonda Dicks.
Molly finished her high-school career about 2,500 points behind her
euphonic teammate. Check out who is right behind her: Ellen Mosher of
Allison-Bristow. The number-two scorer on that list, Denise Long of
Union-Whitton, who was the first woman ever selected in the NBA draft,
by the Warriors, although the pick was immediately nullified by the NBA.
