The Muzzle Loaders Associations International Committee is the world governing body for muzzle loading shooting. The aims of the MLAIC, as defined at the founding meeting of 20 June 1971 are:
To develop a wider interest in antique firearms, through shooting them as close as reasonably possible under the original conditions and style.
To discourage any alteration which would affect the historical value of antique firearms; to promote their correct cleaning and repair; and to save them from destruction or irreparable damage.
To encourage historical research into antique firearms and their use.
To organise matches; establish shooting rules; publish results; award trophies and championship titles; arbitrate on rule disputes, etc.
This is an open discussion forum for anyone with an interest in muzzle loading arms. As such the opinions expressed are those of the individual making the posting and should not be regarded as MLAIC policy. Discussion topics that reflect the above aims of the MLAIC are all valid.
For further information and official MLAIC news, visit their web site at www.mlaic.org.
For those seeking to discuss wider aspects of muzzle loading 'life style' including hunting, trekking, re-enactment, modern in-line guns, etc, then reference should be made to the Muzzle Loader Mailing List or visit the Muzzle Loading Forum where such topics may be valid.
