Mission sports teams participate in the MVAL league (Fremont, Newark, Union City), which is part of NCS (North Coast Section).  NCS has 168 teams.  We have won a number of NCS titles (I have sent out some notices, I have a few more to send out).

 

NCS is part of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), which is the state-wide organization for high school sports.

 

Some sports have state-wide competitions (basketball, cross-country, football, golf, track & field, girls volleyball and wrestling).  Some sports have regional competitions.  The rest have Section competitions.

 

Then the state recognizes the team in each sport that has the highest GPA.  This year, MSJ has four teams that have earned this honor.  They are badminton and boys track & field (three-time winners), girls track & field (two-time winners) and wrestling.

 

Los Gatos was the only other school in California to also have four teams.
