Tonight is the first TVC race at Singer. For anyone interested: I will be at most Singer races (weather permitting) by 5pm if anyone wants to warm up or practice any skills prior to the races.
I would like to ride with the A group (if I can keep up this year :) during the races, but I would be willing to ride along with the B group for any new women who want to ask questions or need advice during the race.
Many thanks to Dawn, Gina, & Carrie for their help providing me with many tips my very first year with the TVC, I'd like to pass along the great tips I've learned to any other newcomers.
Don't be afraid to ask the experienced guys for tips also, they are very helpful. You can learn a lot just by watching them during a race.
Remember these are group training rides good for gaining experience riding in a group of people. Be careful of other riders, take precautions, keep an eye on people around you and don't make sudden moves. Remember someone could be right behind you, do not use your brakes, do not swerve, try to keep some distance around you especially when climbing the hill as bikes will be scattering at different speeds and different climbing styles.
If you can't keep up with the group and you're alone with no one else to work with, you can choose to wait for your group to come back around and jump back on tha back with them to get your training, just do not disrupt the group.
Hope to see some of you tonight before the cold weather creeps back in! :)
