We're still having fun and enjoying the nice Autumn weather! Although it still felt like Summer on Tuesday night!
Please come out to Ely Park golf course and join us for some fun riding on the driving range!
You don't need a cross bike, you can have a blast on your mountain bike!
What is it like?
We ride mostly on grass with one small dirt path section. Paul has a couple itty-bitty fence sections (see attached photo) where you get off your bike and carry it over the obstacle.
There is a marked course to follow, keep the red flags on your right at all times, which leaves yellow flags on your left.
It is fun, no expectations, no team tactics, no big groups of bunched up riders.
Everyone starts whenever they want and rides at their own pace for a good workout.
You can ride alone or if you want to ride with someone, stop and wait off course until they come around and jump in behind them.
When and Where?
Every Tuesday and Thursday until we run out of daylight! I usually get there around 5pm and ride easy to warm up while they are putting out the flags. Everyone usually starts riding by 5:45pm until dark. So far this year, we've seen Carrie Peeling, Gina Elsner, Tami Lewis and Karla Eisch out playing on the course. Come join us!
Ely Park golf course, From North, East and South, Follow I-81 to Route 17 West. - Take the Mygatt St. Exit. You'll see signs for Ely Golf. Turn right off the exit and another immediate right uphill on Ridge St., keep following the signs up the hill to the golf course. Park in the main parking lot, we ride on the right side of the lot, on the driving range. From the WEST, Take Route 17 East to Exit 72 (Front St) Right on Front St, Right on Prospect St. Right on Mygatt St. Right on Ridge St.
