Dear Marsha,
First of all, I do apologize for the delay in responding to you, and for holding you at bay for so long. The fact is that we were attempting to come to a decision about the Race. Now we have. Below is a message from Robert Hanye, our President and CEO, regarding the race. If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
On a personal note, I would just like to say that you and your club have been absolutely wonderful to us! Your enthusiasm and your support have been just great, and we like to think that we have made some valuable friends in your group. We walk away from this event with the satisfaction of knowing that in the 5 years we presented the race, it grew from drawing an average of about 50 racers, to a little over 100. I, personally, am very proud of that.
Thanks for everything!
Joyce
BC Race For Sight Cancelled
It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of the BC Bicycle Race For Sight that has been held on the 3rd Saturday of July.
The race has truly been a unique event with the proceeds supporting the Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment (A.V.R.E.) and the vision programs of the Windsor and Binghamton Lions Clubs.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this event such a wonderful one, including the Village of Windsor, our dedicated Lions volunteers, our sponsors and A.V.R.E. employees. We offer a special thanks to the racers and their families who told us just what a great race it has been and offered many suggestions to make it even better.
Unfortunately, the income generated from the race did not exceed our expenses in putting on the event.
We hope each of you will continue to value the services of A.V.R.E. and the superb work of the Lions and support each as you can. We have truly valued your friendship.
Robert K. Hanye
President/CEO
