Aaron Sele is making a strong bid for a spot in Anaheim's revamped
rotation.
With six pitchers competing for five spots, Sele turned in his best
outing of the spring on Tuesday, limiting the Milwaukee Brewers to
four hits over five scoreless innings in a 7-2 Angels' victory.
The right-hander has a 3.21 ERA this spring, best among Anaheim's
potential starters.
"I'm not there yet," Sele said. "There are still things I need to
work on in between starts. But I'm about where I need to be at this
time of the spring."
Offseason additions Jose Guillen and Vladimir Guerrero homered off
starter Matt Kinney, who surrendered seven runs and 10 hits in five
innings.
