Re: [Milwaukee Brewers Baseball] lets get talkin in here...

I too agree that the Brewers should be able to come close to playing .500 baseball this year.  However, I'm not too optimistic by their dismal beginning.  I do hope that Geoff Jenkins can come back soon so that our offense can get a burst (hopefully!).  In the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (4/3/03), Drew Olson writes, "With the first 2% of the season complete, the Milwaukee Brewers are searching for their first victory and their first lucky break.  Given the current state of the club, it's hard to imagine them getting one without the other."  I tend to agree with this quote because four of their six losses have been decided by 2 runs or less.  This means that one less defensive miscue or baserunning error and they could have won any of those four games.  I just hope their next opponent (the Pirates) can give them some useful breaks because if they don't we will have to rely on the Brewers to play a perfectly flawless game.  I'm doubtful the latter will happen, but hopefully, the former will.

Well, I agree we shouldn't give up yet, and I'd love to see more discussion
on this list, but to be honest - I am at a loss to see what improvements can
be made.  Of course, let's understand the Brewers have played against St.
Louis and San Francisco so far, and I think both of those teams have been
touted to win their divisions. I'll pose the question - What should the
Brewers due to immediately turn things around?  I thought that maybe they
could come close of .500, and I'm not going to throw in the towel yet.
