-The Brewers added two coaches to new manager Ned Yost's staff Nov.
2, naming Mike Maddux pitching coach and Butch Wynegar batting coach.
The team also announced that bullpen coach Bill Castro will return.
The roles of bench coach, first base coach and third base coach still
need to be filled.
-The Brewers continued revamping their front office Nov. 1, naming
Gord Ash assistant general manager and Reid Nichols special assistant
to the general manager.
-A Miller Park stadium district committee has decided to go ahead
with plans to replace the flawed pivot system used to open and close
the park's retractable roof. The construction committee agreed Oct.
30 to sign a deal with Hunt Construction and Clark Construction to
manage the project of replacing roof pivot bearings by opening day.
-The Brewers sent RHP Brian Mallette to the Dodgers on Oct. 16 to
complete a July trade. Los Angeles received utility player Tyler
Houston on July 23 for minor league pitchers Ben Diggins and Shane
Nance.
-OF Ryan Christenson, whom the Brewers outrighted to Triple A
Indianapolis, refused assignment and became a free agent. RHP Chad
Fox also declared for free agency. Pitcher Jose Mieses, who had been
designated for assignment, was outrighted to Indianapolis.
-The Brewers claimed OF Scott Podsednik off waivers from the Mariners
on Oct.12.
-LHP Andrew Lorraine refused assignment to Triple-A Indianapolis and
elected to become a free agent on Oct. 12.
-The Brewers sent pitcher Nelson Figueroa and OF Ryan Thompson
outright to Triple-A Indianapolis on Oct. 9.
-The Brewers activated pitchers Shane Nance and Paul Rigdon and OF
Alex Sanchez from the 60-day DL on Oct. 9.
