All Star weekend was going great until inning 11. What does
everybody think about Bud Selig's decision to call the game after 11
innings? I think it's the stupidest thing I ever heard. People pay
$200, $300 for a ticket, they should get a good show. And what good
is a baseball game if you don't get a winner?
I understand the concern about pitchers pitching too many innings,
especially if their team is in a pennant race. But come on, this
game and many of the players have not been very fan friendly the last
few years. They should have let position players pitch, or decided
the winner with a home run derby(as Curt Schilling suggested) or
something like that.
Another note: Although I would have been angry if I had bought an
expensive ticket to the All Star game and didn't get to see a winner,
I think the fans at the game acted like boorish drunks(half probably
were drunk, but that's besides the point). Throwing beer bottles,
etc. onto the field? Grow up. There are better ways to show your
disgust than that. Milwaukee, the fans, the team all had a good
image until the end when Bud Selig AND THE FANS ruined it. People in
other cities think of Wisconsinites as a bunch of obese drunks, and
we proved them right.
What does everybody else think of this?
