I now realize the Brewers biggest off-season need: middle relief
pitching.
First of all, let me complain about the Brewers lack of a solid
bullpen. I know the numbers look good (I think the Brewers are like
5th in the NL in Bullpen ERA), but there are certain pitchers that
Ned Yost has to stop putting in the game in critical situations:
1. Justin Lehr-every time I see this guy go in the game, he blows
it. He blew Tuesday's lead against the Mets and he blew the tie in
today's game against the Mets. It's hard for me to believe this guy
is the best we have in AAA.
2. Julio Santana-this guy now has 5 losses in the year and obviously
had no control on Tuesday (almost as bad as Doug Davis' lack of
control today). He is inconsistent, and needs to work on a change-
up if he's going to get anywhere in his Major League career.
Again, I don't know why we have these two guys in the Majors with
pitchers like Obermueller, Glover, and Adams in AAA. And I know
Adams is struggling a bit in AAA, but from what I've heard
Obermueller and Glover have been doing OK. What do you guys think??
