Glad you've joined the group, Tim. Our numbers are not large, but we do
have some nice discussions from time to time. I hope that you will be an
active participant here.
So, any thoughts on off-season moves, from the sale of the team to the
acquisition of Carlos Lee? My sense is that they have improved themselves
in a meaningful way, probably to the point where .500 is a legitimate
goal. I don't think the new owner will bring much deeper pockets, but he
will bring a fresh attitude to the organization. I wasn't as down as some
on the Seligs, but it was clear they needed to go because the environment
around their ownership had become toxic.
As for Lee, he gives them some right handed pop, but just as importantly he
doesn't strike out nearly as much as the other MKE hitters have in the
past. Just having a middle of the line up guy who is going to put the ball
in play on a regular basis should be a real lift for Jenkins and Overbay.
I am looking forward to the Spring Season starting in six weeks!
