Luigi Del Neri's Chievo were beaten 3-1, but maintains his minnows
shook up San Siro giants Milan.
"There is no shame in losing at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The
important thing is to do it with dignity, as we did this evening,
and we even managed to scare Milan."
Sergio Pellissier had put the visitors ahead by taking advantage of
a Nelson Dida howler, but Alberto Gilardino, Massimo Oddo and
Clarence Seedorf turned the game around.
"We had a lot of young players out there and played very well. The
equaliser was perhaps avoidable, but Oddo's goal was excellent,"
continued Del Neri.
"You need to use up a lot of energy when facing the Rossoneri, so
inevitably you end up drained towards the final minutes. Perhaps
with a little more concentration and good luck, we would have left
here with a result."
The Chievo Coach was sent off for dissent during the first half, but
insisted he was not upset.
"These things happen in football and I have already cleared the air
with the officials. I asked the linesman for an explanation on the
offside flag against my players. When the game is over, I'm
perfectly calm. The important thing is not to offend anyone."
