A Mid Wales football club cancelled a cup match as a mark of respect
for a newly-signed player who died on Sunday. Knighton Town Football
Club has also postponed next Saturday's match and is planning a
tribute to the young player who died at his home over the weekend.
Jamie Price, 22, of Wylcwm Street, Knighton, was found dead on
Sunday, to the shock of his family and friends. He signed to play
with Knighton Town this season.
Knighton Town chairman Tony Williams said a summer Cup match on
Sunday had been cancelled because of the day's tragic events.
"I should think we will be marking our respect for him at the next
game. There was supposed to be a game on Saturday but that has been
postponed as well," he said.
A funeral service will be held in Knighton at 1pm on Friday.
