Spar Mid Wales League
Rhayader Town 0
Penrhyncoch 5
INJURY ravaged Rhayader were blown away by a stunning first half
showing from the title chasing Roosters.
Jack Watkins men had no answer to a five goal Penrhyn salvo with
star striker Andrew Carree hitting a match sealing treble.
The irrepressible Carree burst through the Radnor teams defence on
15 minutes and brilliantly lobbed his side ahead from 30 yards out.
Within five minutes Carree doubled his side's advantage as he nodded
home from a free kick, with midfielder Huw Bonner adding a searing
third on the half hour.
Bonner proceeded to net his third goal in two games as he weaved his
way through the flailing home rearguard to slot home a fourth just
five minutes before the interval.
Carree was not going to be outshone and duly completed his hat trick
with a sweetly timed volley from six yards out on the stroke of half
time.
The Penrhyn striker was replaced as a precautionary measure with a
shell shocked Rhayader somehow managing to keep their free scoring
guests at bay for the remainder of the game.
`It was a good win for us,' commented Penrhyn boss Stan
Richards. `And I was especially pleased with the result after our
defeat against Llanfyllin last weekend.'
