Not a good weekend for the welsh clubs in the english pyramid.
Cardiff City went down to a single goal at St Mary's, with Wrexham on the end
of a two goal reverse to in form Barnet. Swansea's game with Hartlepool was
called off as a mark of respect for the tragic death of a young Hartlepool
player.
More luck in the non-league, with Newport County staying fourth in the
Conference South and Colwyn Bay going through in the FA Trophy. Less good news
for Merthyr who warmd up for their date with Oxford United by getting soundly
stuffed by Chippenham in the FAT.
The Welsh Premier saw Llanelli stay top after their first loss last week,
winning an eight goal thriller against Newtown. TNS still sit close on their
heels.
In the Welsh Alliance the foreign legion of Cwmbran failed to win at ENTO
Aberaman, and Prestatyn Town stretch their lead in the Cymru Alliance.
