Road trip! Atlanta SX and Daytona. There are two
places your time could be well spent!<g> The
pictures are from Ed's digital camera. Mine will probably
be in "Other Photos" but I will try to post some
here in my album. Maybe you will see yourself. The
racing I have seen this season there are no losers.
Conditions have been more of a challenge than most bargained
for.

West point is one of the best places to ride. Its located just south of
Lawrenceburg. We ride there pretty often, not much rock just good dirt trails
with some pretty awsome hills.

I posted 12 photos from Van Leer in my album. I
will leave them there until the next race and then
delete as they take up a lot of bytes. The full 36 are
at the msws picture site under Ed's digital one's. I
hope you enjoy them and that I got at least a couple
of people here in this forum. Thanks!

After the first lap i threw my goggles off
outside the scoring tent, after the race i went to
retrieve them and they were gone. They are black Oakleys
with roll offs.I would like to think some body picked
them up by mistake and now has realized this.If any
body came up with an extra pair let me know. derek

I wore mine around my neck for 4 laps, but I did manage to find a pristine set
of Oakleys with rolloffs. I hope you have good luck finding your goggles.

Here is the hot setup wearing 1 goggle entire
race.
From Smith Optics get the Sub Speed Racer
Pack. Get you dealer to order the snowmobile double
pane no fog lens,"drilled" for rolloff's. Use the
Smith "mud Guard at the top of the film. Install
complete kit and Verrrrrry Verrrrry delicately use the
Smith no fog cloth on the inside on the double pane
lens. It is NOT lexan but butrate and coated. It will
scuff very very easily. As long the the roll off device
itself does not come apart,(surely you are duct taping
the compartments shut!!) you will have good vision no
matter how muddy or rainey it gets. I wore 1 goggle at
Maplesville, Mt. Pleasant and Boxhollow as well as 1 at
Vanleer. That's proof it works. Scott also has the same
setup if you prefer. E mail me you interest Off of this
site and I'll see if I can help you further.

Who is going to race Linton, KY on the 12th of
March? I can't go, but there is a lot at stake in the
points race. I know that kx125ride and partsforu are
battling for the points lead in their respective classes
and I hope they win the next two. Good luck guys!!!

where are you located. I personally am from the
Nashville area and we have members from all over the south.
Again, welcome.

I am from Franklin Tennessee, and ride a new
KX250. I used to ride a WR400, but after those mud runs
this Winter, I decided that I needed a lighter bike.
Shad destroys my theory about Mid-South bikes, but he
is super human. I made all the races so far this
year including the Summer events. This is my first
year back into racing since 1992. I raced a XR600 in
open B back then. If you go to the history section of
the mid-south photos, you will see me,
#748.

Thanks for the welcome. I would like to say that I just
returned from Carter Mtn. this weekend, and a new loop is
marked that is over 40 miles long! Great new trails with
unbelievable sceenery. This is my favorite riding location to
date.

No, I am racing Vet C. I got the magic letter
from Roger Ansel at AMA to revert classes. I will be
eligible for the Senior class when the 2000-2001 Winter
Series cranks up, but I may stay in Vet C until I can
get in the top 5 consistantly. So far this year, with
DQ's and other circumstances, I am starting to break
into the top slots, but not without struggle. It has
taken me this long to get confident again.

As
far as the KX goes, it is a 1999 model with great low
end. Iv'e done some work on it, you know, pipe,
silencer, suspension, and things, but I still need a fly
wheel weight. After that, I think it willsuit me much
better than the WR did.

Any trails worth trying
in the Nashville area, just for practice?

I have been racing the Missouri Series for 6 full
seasons.....I am taking alittle bit of a break this year.....so
is my wallet, LOL!
I race in the Open 2-stroke
class...I may switch to the senior class this year, not
really going for the points this year, just out to keep
my racing alertness sharp.
I have never raced the
Mid-south series, unless you are planning to have one in
southern MO. sometime!
I know a few of my MO Series
buddies race the MidSouth Series.
I do invite anyone
else from the MidSouth Series to come join in the MO.
Hare Scrambles Series, which happens to be the best
Series next to the GNCC!!!
Race On!

It is supposed to rain Saturday and you know what
that means for Sunday. MUD! I love to take mud and
water pictures so you guys strike a pose! I'll try to
post on Monday night! Pictures from past races will be
available at Linton. Look for a Wells Cargo gray trailer
with a Carter Engineering logo. Trailer is attached to
a Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you find one of yourself
just take it. They are the free doubles I get and you
are welcome to them.

Glad to have found it. No I havent raced a MSHS,
but I did race my first harescrambles this year at a
few interstate (victory sports) races and plan on
trying some of the MSHS events this year. what kind of
turnout do MSHS events usually have? Are the courses
novice friendly?

generally speaking, forthe past four years MSWS
races have always been novice friendly, as the
2000-2001 season begings stay tuned to this site and ask
questions related to the weather and how it affects various
race tracks. This year has been an unusual one. Once
every four or five years we have a wonderful wet
season. IT's TOUGH!
Even on us old B guys. Go to
www.msws.org and review some of the scores and lap times at
different tracks. It's interesting.
Turnout like for
the Linton was over 300 total.
You'll find that
the average turnout on good years will 'average' over
300. The only race series that has a bigger turnout is
the GNCC's and not ALL of them have over 300. Hope
this helps. Welcome to MSWS.
