Mid-South Riders:

Thanks to all for a great 07-08 winter season. I believe it was one of our
best and most challenging seasons ever. I want to thank each of you who
participated and help make the Mid-South Hare Scrambles Series the
excellent, nationally recognized series that it is today. It means a lot to
be a Championship winner in our series; congratulations to all of those who
earned a end-of-season award.

The end-of-season awards are posted on the points pages of the website.
While we would like to provide awards to everyone, unfortunately, that's not
possible. The trophy quantities were based on average class turnouts per
the rulebook, and we do fudge a little when possible in favor of the rider
when it was very close. If you have a place number next to your name on
your class's points page, then you have earned an award and you are invited
to attend the awards banquet.

If you are an overall winner, you also get an overall plaque, too.

The annual awards banquet will be Sunday, July 20 at the Wild Horse Saloon
in Nashville, TN. For banquet details and pre-registration details, and
general banquet information, see this link:
http://msws.org/banquet/winter/banquet.html

Registration is open for award winners and their guests at this time. If
you would like to come but are not an award winner, we usually have a little
room, but are tight. This banquet is a great event with typically 500+ in
attendance. Your registration fee includes a great dinner by the Wildhorse
chefs. If you have never been to one before, it's a lot of fun and a lot of
prizes are given away to the riders.

You must pre-register to attend. No unexpected at-the-door registration
are accepted. The cost of the Banquet applies if you come in the door,
regardless of what time you arrive or if you make it in time for dinner. We
have the entire facility to ourselves, and the series is charged by the
number of people there *during* the banquet, not the number who eat. In
past years we had a few folks who slipped in thinking it was OK since they
didn't have dinner. That is not the case, we were charged for them. To
prevent that from being a problem, the Wildhorse staff will be checking the
guest list closely. It is likely the doors will be closed once the
registration table closes. You need to plan to arrive on time.

Early registrations generally get priority treatment when as we divvy out
the prize certificates beforehand. I can't recommend enough to get your
registrations in early. You must be present to claim any prizes except for
your trophy. If you are not going to attend, and are an award winner,
please let us know so we don't try to track you down to see if you are
coming or not. Also, if you are not coming, please arrange to have a friend
pickup your trophy.

Watch this list and the website for any late news or updates on the Banquet.

Thanks,
Scott
