All:

My apologies in advance for being so late getting the flier out. My real
job and some administrative changes for the MSWS have had me running behind.

The flier for the Winter Series is now up and available on the website. It
does of course include the directions to the events. It also has some
information about this years points and a change to the entry fee.

Let me explain the change briefly:

This season, we are transitioning to a member based series. Instead of a
"points fee" per se, all riders should signup to be a MSHSS/Points member
rider. The fee to be a MSHSS rider is $20 per year (which is the same as
the old points keeping fee). MSHSS members will get the following benefits:

1) Each MSHSS member will receive a unique rider number. Going forward,
this number will be based on the rider's overall score for the season. I
am working hard to calculate all of last season's rider's overall places to
determine this year's number assignments. So for example if you placed 53rd
overall, based on all riders and all races, you will be assigned M54 (for
Motorcycle #54). ATV's will be prefixed with an "A" as in "A35", and youth
riders will be preceded with a "Y". Youth riders will not be based on any
overall score since those are not kept. MSHSS members will receive a
membership card with their number when you signup as a member the first
time. You will use this same number all YEAR long, including any points
paying summer series. If you lose your card, we will have the member list
at every race.

2) MSHSS members may earn next seasons rider number based on this season's
overall performance.

3) MSHSS Points Members will have their points keeping done based on their
member number at no additional points keeping fee (free).

4) MSHSS Points members will be eligible for a LOWER ENTRY FEE. Riders may
choose to not become MSHSS members, however NON-members have a HIGHER entry
fee. See flier for amounts. Does not apply to youth riders.

5) MSHSS members will have their full information posted on the website
results and sent to factory contingency programs. Non member data may be
limited to save signup time on race day.

6) MSHSS members signing up at round 1 (first 600 riders) will receive a
free MSHSS 2007-08 T-shirt. Thanks to Just Having Fun Racing for the art
and photos for the shirt!

This membership fee will result in no price change for most MSHSS riders.
If you had not planned on "signing up for points" then the bottom line is
that if you will ride more than 2 events, it will be cheaper to be a MSHSS
member. If you would have signed up for points anyway, this will make no
difference from the fees you paid last year. The MSHSS event entry fee
remains the same this season for MEMBERS.

Membership forms will be available at Round 1. I will have them on the
website soon, but probably not in time for you to mail them in.

E-mail your questions, I will consolidate them and answer in bulk.

Once again, my apologies for the delay in getting the flier out.

Paul Allen says Lakeview is almost ready. He says some of the fields will
have some dust but because of this summer's drier weather, he was able to
move some of the course into the deeper woods where the course will be
perfect.

Hope to see everyone at Round 1.

Best,
Scott
