Mid-South Hare Scrambles Riders:
More sad news this year. Last Saturday, Ed Larosche and his wife were in a
serious car accident. My understanding is that another vehicle lost control
and ran into their car. Ed did not survive the collision. His wife Donna
was released today and is recovering from injuries.
I know many of the people who subscribe to this maillist knew Ed and would
want to know this sad news. For those who didn't know Ed, he was one of the
most active members in the North Alabama Trail Riders (NATRA). He has
served in leadership roles with that organization on and off for many years
including being President more than once. Ed was also very involved with
SERA, in leadership roles and with their scoring. I have known Ed for many
years. Ed was one of those great people who were particularly passionate
and positive about motorcycles and riding. He always seemed to have time to
participate in anything that helped our sport and do much more than his fair
share. I know Ed will be sincerely missed by the riding community,
especially by many of us. Ed is survived by his wife and three daughters.
The funeral arrangements have not been made yet. They should be posted on
the NATRA website sometime tomorrow: http://natra.dirtrider.net/
