All:
Points have been finalized, awards for each class are posted. See the
points pages on the website and look in the column "Season Award" to see if
you earned an end-of-season trophy. The trophy quantities were based on
average class turnouts and we fudge a little in the favor of the rider where
they were close. If you are an overall winner, you also get an overall
plaque in addition to the huge trophy.
The annual awards banquet will be Sunday, July 22 at the Wild Horse Saloon
in Nashville, TN. For banquet details and pre-registration details, and
general banquet information, see this link:
http://msws.org/banquet/winter/banquet.html
Registration is open for award winners and their guests at this time. If
you would like to come but are not an award winner, we usually have a little
room, but are tight. This banquet is a great event with typically 500+ in
attendance. Your registration fee includes a great dinner by the Wildhorse
chefs. If you have never been to one before, it's a lot of fun and a lot of
prizes are given away to the riders.
You must pre-register to attend. With very few exceptions no at-the-door
registration are accepted. Those few that are accepted are done at a
*significantly* higher cost. The cost of the Banquet applies if you come in
the door, regardless of what time you arrive or if you make it in time for
dinner. The series is charged by the number of people there during the
banquet, not the number who eat. Last year we had several folks who slipped
in thinking it was OK since they didn't have dinner. That is not the case,
we were charged for them. To prevent that from being a problem again, the
Wildhorse staff will be checking the guest list closely. It is likely the
doors will be closed once the registration table closes. You need to plan
to arrive on time.
Early registrations generally get priority treatment when as we divvy out
the prize certificates beforehand. I can't recommend enough to get your
registrations in early. You must be present to claim any prizes except for
your trophy. If you are not going to attend, and are an award winner,
please let us know so we don't try to track you down to see if you are
coming or not. Also, if you are not coming, please arrange to have a friend
pickup your trophy.
With this list and the website for any late news or updates on the Banquet.

Summer updates/corrections:
The Summer series flier is posted. The next event is June 24th at
Bolivar, TN. This is mainly a SERA event, listed on our schedule as a
courtesy to our riders for someplace to ride. Note, SERA will score it, not
the Mid-South crew.
The July 8 event at Marion IL is a location we are considering for a
2007-2008 Winter Series event. If you can make it, I would appreciate some
rider feedback on the facility, race management, parking, driving distance,
and of course the course. The Mid-South guys will score this event.
Note that the Westmoreland event on July 28th is a Saturday. This is not an
error, the event WILL BE ON SATURDAY. I would also appreciate any
feedback, good or bad, on having this event on Saturday.
Thanks,
Scott
