hey all,
I'm forwarding this message that Martin sent to the CCM list; it
contains lots of important information for our next ride!
The ride is this Saturday, after the Santa/Dreidel Rampage and the
HUB's annual Latke Party, both of which are optional but recommended!
We'll be meeting at 10 p.m. at the HUB in Little Village (info below),
NOT at midnight in the Handlebar.
It took me a minute to figure out why Martin was calling for costumes,
and what those costumes should be... and then I realized, duh, the
Santa/Dreidel rampage! So if you're planning to spread mayhem on the
rampage, just reuse your costume.
If you don't have, and don't want to buy/make a Santa/Elf/Reindeer
costume, consider joining the Dreidel brigade. Costumes are easy to
make, and you probably already have the materials--a cardboard box
that'll fit around your torso, utility knife perhaps, and
paint/markers. You can find the letters to draw/paint on each side
here, among other internet locations:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreidel
I am going for the unofficial "WASPiest Dreidel" award; I invite you
all to compete with me!
Obviously, if you don't have a costume you are still welcome to maraud
with us, and the fine folks at the HUB might even feed you latkes. But
do try to bring some liquid cheer to share, to make up for your
grinchiness :)
More information on the rampage, latkes, and the marauders ride is

verbosely yours,

This Saturday the Midnight marauders will be hosting an X-mass ride.
This will be the third and likely, the most besotted, bike event of
the day. The festivities will begin at noon with the Santa (Dreidel)
Rampage. Following that is the Latke party at the Hub Co-op at 2358
S. Marshall, at 7pm. This will be the staging point for the Marauders
ride, for those with the fortitude to have made it through the day, or
those that care to join in the festivities at any point. The Midnight
Marauders ride will begin at 10:00pm. This will be the first ever
Marauders south side route, though not south of about Bridgeport.
Costumes are highly recommended for the Marauder's ride, but not
required. Check the Bike Winter calendar for specifics on the other
events that day.
