Can someone from the following teams send me a spirit vote off list for the 1st
event?
Airwolf, Bears, Flyght 1, (Not Purple) Haze, UTB, uBu.
Thanks,
Andy
MWL
This may sound like a stupid question, and one that I should know the answer to,
but are there any of the teams that know that their cheque hasn't been sent to
me? I am fairly sure I am 1 short, and thought it was from Boogie Knights, but
they say not.
Any ideas?
Andy
UTB
Just to clarify something that I hadn't mentioned:
2 minute half-time at 8 points.
1 time out per team PER MATCH, not to be taken after the hooter.
Finish the point after the hooter goes.
If there are any other rules that I have forgotten, then please get
back to me today!!

Afternoon all,
Just a quick note about the weekend following a quick chat with the venue management.
When you all arrive at the venue, follow signs towards the leisure centre part of the site, and you will come into a small car park area. There will be a tarmac playground area beyond that which is normally gated off from the car park, but this area will be opened up for us to use, and backs onto the pitches. Please park sensibly to avoid blocking others.
At the back corner of the playground, there will be a set of doors opened up for us to gain access to the changing rooms and showers. These are in addition to the main leisure centre doors, and are being opened for our benefit to get to the (non-swimming) pool changing areas more easily. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BOOTS/MUDDY TRAINERS OFF before you go into the building!!! If these doors aren't in use much, they may be locked to prevent other people just wandering in the building without the staff knowing. If this happens, just ask the staff to unlock them again. (this is preferable to getting mud/dirt into the other areas of the centre)
There are lockers available in the changing rooms, which will need a (refundable) 20p. If you don't use them, take care of your valuables as things can easily get pinched from the side of a pitch.
As with any other venue, we are keen to keep the managers happy so that we can keep using the site for the rest of the winter and beyond. Above everything else, please respect the other users of the centre and the staff. I don't have time to find another set of pitches for December!
Sorry for the preaching, and see you all on Sunday. _________________________________ Andrew Godber Structural Engineer

I'll be going down with FC. I'm already bring some stuff down for a few other teams (cones etc)
so if there's any discs you want from the lookfly site just let me know and I can bring them down.
It's usually £8 each unless of course you're after a load of them. Either way just email me and I can
bring down anything you're after.

Morning all,
Just a quick email to confirm more details of the MWL.
Teams entered:
Airwolf (Wolverhampton Uni)
Bears (Warwick Uni)
Boogie Knights (Liverpool Uni/Open)
Flyght Club 1 (Nottingham Open)
Flyght Club 2
Lords of the Ring (Malvern Open)
Purple Haze (Loughborough Uni)
UTB (West Midlands open)
uBu (Birmingham Uni)
There is now a schedule posted in the files section of the
midlandwinterleague yahoogroup, on an Excel sheet. Please have a look at
this as soon as you can, and offer any comments if there are things that
need changing. There are 6 out of the 9 teams that have 3 games in a row at
one point, and I apologise for that, but I am sure that we have done that in
the past. (They also aren't really long games)
Games are 50mins long, and when the hooter/whistle goes, finish the point.
If games over-run, then teams have to get to their next game ASAP, but the
end point for the games will not be extended.
Each fixture will be 10am-4pm, and there are no spare pitches anywhere in
the schedule. If this is starting to cause a problem because of bad weather
conditions, then I will have to review it.
Directions and travel arrangements to the venue will follow shortly.
As previously stated, there will be changing rooms, showers, and an indoor
area to the leisure centre with vending machines with hot & cold drinks, and
chocolate, etc.
Any problems, let me know.

-----Original Message----- From: Jonathan Risk [mailto:JRisk@...] Sent: 03 November 2004 09:25 To: midlandwinterleague@yahoogroups.com Subject: [midlandwinterleague] teams
Hi there,
The details for the Midland Winter League have now been confirmed for this
season. As with last season, all the fixtures will take place in one venue,
that venue being Friary Grange School/Leisure Centre in Lichfield. The venue
is easily accessible from most directions by car, and is about 20-25mins
walk from Lichfield City station.
The dates are:
Sunday 14th November
Sunday 12th December
Sunday 9th January
Sunday 13th February
The games will take place from 10am-4pm.
Please can all teams wishing to take part email me, and send a cheque for
£100 (£25 per event) payable to Andrew Godber to the address below. The
closing date for entries will be 22nd October, so all cheques should be in
by then. Teams entering the league will be expected to pay for the entire
league, and will lose their money in the event of a no-show at any one
fixture. Second teams will be accepted.
Also, anyone wanting to keep up to date with news, details, etc should
subscribe to "midlandwinterleague" on www.yahoogroups.com as this will be
the last mass posting/posting on Britdisc.
Current teams expressing an interest: Airwolf, Bears, Boogie Knights, Flyght
Club, Lords of the Ring, Magnificent Severn, Purple Haze, Random Fling, UTB.
Any takers from BAF, EMO, Oxford, Mental Discs? Please let me know.
Please give me a shout with any questions.
Cheers,

Well, I would have like a courtesy response from Wayne after I emailed him,
but apparently not. If the leagues elsewhere are on the 2nd weekends, then
we will have ours on the 2nd weekends. Saves mucking everyone about.
For the few people who have expressed interest so far, and for those that
haven't, teams will be entered for all four events, so attendance needs to
be assured for all events. You will pay for everything in one go, and if you
don't turn up to an event, you lose your money, and lose your games. Please
make sure you have definite numbers prior to entering.

The summer ulty season is nearly over and winter is approaching. Are there any takers for Midland Winter League Organisation? As I mentioned before, I cannot undertake this task this year due to general 'being busy'-ness and also because I cannot confirm my being in the Midlands for the whole winter season (For Birmingham people, it's nothing to do with me being deported when my visa ends on Dec 31st).
If you are interested, send me or the group an email. Could all teams make an effort to seek out pitches? I assume that all winter leagues will stick to the 'first weekend of the month' format. It's up to you to decide if you want to hold more than one event or even all four.
Hi all,
The winter season is coming up (ok, not that soon. nationals ia not
over yet.) and it's time for MWL again. This time, I will not be
involved in MWL 2004/05 organisation duties. Therefore, the title of
MWL TD is up for grabs. It's up to the TD to decide if MWL should be
held in a single venue or return to the multiple venue format. This
early announcement should give the Midlands teams a chance to book
pitches early.
Hope to hear from someone!!!
Regards,
Jason
