Hello people,

With the midlands ladder league there is definitely no forcing of
people/teams to commit to several events, as a team can play just
one game in an entire season and they'll still end up with a ranking
in the ladder league. Or on the other hand they can travel around
every week playing teams everywhere and end up with a (much higher)
ladder league ranking. As most of you understand, events are
arranged wherever a team/player wants to host it, at whatever time
is convenient - there can be two simultaneous events on either side
of the region, or several in one week, and teams can pick and choose
which to attend (if any).

There is also no hard and fast rule as to how the open teams are
made up. There is nothing stopping a few players from an existing
club team picking up a few players to play. This could be the case
from the pickup games that have been organised. A team primarily
consisting of one club could pick up a couple of other players and
be entered into the league. It'd be a good way to get more people
involved maybe? A means of dividing up teams and distributing new
comers? Not a true hat affair admittedly but suitable for a "pick-up-
and-play" event. There is also no need for players to attend the
first "dividing up event". There is nothing to stop new city based
teams being formed on the spot and casually entering the ladder
league.

The great thing about the league events is that they can be hosted
anywhere. You could even establish a rotor of venues that teams
could attend. There would be no requirement for teams to attend to
still compete in the league but an encouragement to attend as many
as possible?
