I think getting things going in Open Ultimate for the Midlands is a
great but i am not sure how much 'legs' this hat league has.
I would be worried doing it in leagues that by trying to keep
players in the same teams you might discourage people from coming at
all if they know they cant make it every event. Also people might
not come if they miss the first event. It could also lead to some
very bias teams. I think the easier you make it for people to just
turn up for an event the better.
Last years series of evening 'hat' tournaments worked well. (I
thought) If this could be carried on I think it would be a big
advantage to the Midlands area. If prizes are available perhaps they
could be awarded to the people who come to the most events? (I did
also think of suggesting an individual's league system so the person
who was on the most winnings teams would be crowned the Midlands
best player but thought better of it! Mainly cause I couldn't be
bothered even thinking about a points scoring system, Jon Risk
perhaps something for you?)
On a different note, in previous years UTB has visited other clubs
to play one off friendly matches which I always found good perhaps
this could be encouraged? I know it goes on more in the higher
teams. I know this year the scheduale is tight between tours but
maybe when the season has finished we might look into doing some
Midlands 1 day events?

So it soooo long.
