Midlands Ladder League   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #545 of 981 |
In an effort to continue the growth of ultimate in the region, I'd
like to propose a ladder league similar to that which Felix has run
for the university scene [http://www.seultimate.org/ull/ for more
details]

I would like to get away from the traditional club approach, and
instead make the format more loose (i.e. almost pickup to start with,
then stay in those pickup teams with some minor changes to account for
missing players or newcomers)

There is no reason why this can't run year round, except during the
Tour season (which is now only 8 weeks in length)

Have a look at the link above and think about whether you could
contribute in some small way. One of the biggest aims of this would
be to encourage new players from universities to play alongside the
best the region has to offer, which will help to create a good
Midlands vibe.

The league isn't really run by any one person, instead people take
responsibility to arrange a time and place and then other people turn
up, play the competition, and Bob's your uncle.

Summer league last year was a good start, let's get the Midlands rolling!

The main thought behind keeping the teams (roughly) the same was to encourage people to play with people they don't generally play with. But I think that you...
