RE: [midlandwinterleague] length of the winter league...

I would prefer to see 4 events plus finals, i dont think we should drag it out to much. also, before you guys start making any plans, Fly Ultimate (the ultimate shirt manufactureres) are sponsoring the Winter League Nationals, to be held in Nottingham in late march.

One comment on this proposal is that, at the moment, we seem to be short of some venues in the Midlands for the league fixtures, and a shortening of the program would alleviate this slightly. We seem to have MWL 1 sorted, and Bears, OW, and Flyght Club are doing an event. If Red confirm they can do one, then that gives us 5 venues for 5 events - should we leave it their? (Especially if 'we' want to arrange a big nationwide Winter League playoff event between the winners of all the leagues: London, Bristol, Midland, South Coast, West Yorkshire, Northern)

Hi all,

First off, I think this winter league is the way forward and all kudos
for slipdisc in taking the lead.  We're looking forward to being involved.

There is a point I would like to raise for general discussion on the
winter league list and I would be interested in you response.  The
length of the league has raised a few eyebrows here in oxford.  By the
time we've got to the april fixture many of our players will have
already started playing outdoors (mootones are going to dublin and ow
players travelling to rimini) shortly followed by the first tour and
mixed tour events.  I think it will be hard to keep our players focused
by the time we get into april and our feeling is parhaps a march
deadline would be better (particularly for this first year). this would
give a much more focused midlands event.

What our your thoughts?  Does a april league suite your team?  I'm not
trying to rock the boat too much.  I can imagine that this is actually
what other teams want - in which case I'm sure we'll do what we can come
april, but I am curious if this is the case.   What da' think?
