I'm a 1st time rider and was wondering what types of bikes everyone has
rode in the past or plans to ride this year.
List the year, make and model please. Include a brief description if
you wish.
I've got an old but trusty 10-speed. It's relatively heavy but it get
the job done! I can't wait!
Bob -- where's that place in Mt. Prospect? My karaoke store on Gary is closed
on
Tuesdays, and I'll be in the area tomorrow...
Haven't gotten the song yet, so it may be a no-go. Oh, and I don't own a
long-haired wig
for you...

Subject: [michiganderbicycletour] Another year... can't wait
I posted some pics from last year's 'Gander on my clydesdalefitness.com blog to get us all excited...
And Saturday July 5, a bunch of us are doing a 42 mile training ride in Algonac at their Pickerel Festival Bike Ride... a good tune up for the following week when we all leave for another great tour on the Michigander. Details at clydesdalefitness.com

Check it out. I enjoy the threads on safe cycling, commuting, living
car free, 50 and over and utilitarian cycling.
There is a long distance cycling thread that might useful to
Michigander participants.
http://www.bikeforums.net/
I'm moving to Denver this month and wanted to ride the Michigander one
last time (I think it will be my 13th). However, I desperately need a
ride to anywhere in the metro Detroit area Friday after the ride. No
bike, no gear--just me. Will share gas--and driving if you wish. Plus,
I'm a really nice person (although I'll probably sleep if I don't
drive)!
Can anyone help me out??
Barbara
Only if we have the karaoke version running so I can get the words
and the timing right!!!

night of the ride in beautiful downtown Edmore! We sent flyers out
with our confirmation letter announcing the talent show. However we
have no sign-ups yet. What do you think it will take to get people to
sign up? (We do have a few "canned" acts to supplement in case no one
steps forward, but sure would be nice to get some buzz about this,
because it can be a lot of fun! Especially with my brother-in-law
emceeing, Joy)
Nancy
ok Sue--Quakerstate is the name I use when on the c.b.
radio. It is also the state where I was born! Are we
going to have to i.d. ourselves during the ride?!!

I like the one about the cat.
I got "sumoe" from a combination of my first and last names, so don't
be afraid to use it. I'm not THAT big...really, so no offense will be
taken!

That's how my son learned about biking, too! He's been
on many of
these tours. This'll be my eleventh time! Jeez!
I agree, bar burgers are the best! Don't be afraid to check out the
small resturants in town, also. That's how I discovered grilled
sandwiches way before Quizno's hooked on to them.
Nancy, anyone from the newspaper riding with us this year, like Mike
Wendlund from the freep?

By the way, do you know how to set this group so the
messages don't come to my e-mail? I just wanted to be
able to go to "groups" and see what people have
written, not have it sent to e-mail... Thanks!

I had "justselfpropel, " but it got messed up somehow. I like to commute by bike to get places, and I run, ski, kayak, roller ski, etc., so I just self propel when I can...

I came up with the wiggy228 e-mail address in reference to my now deceased family cat, Wiggles. The Wiggy is a short for Wiggles and the 228 spells cat on any phone keypad. Its sort of corny, but I never bothered to change it since setting up my Yahoo E-mail account over 5 years ago.

I just love the "names" of two of our new members: ijustselfpropel and wiggy! I would love to hear how these names came to be!
