On a whim, I Googled "2009 Michigander" and ended up finding a note on
the Musketawa Trail page (http://www.musketawatrail.org/events.htm)
with some hints as to the 2009 Michigander route:

"The 18th annual Michigander Bike Tour is scheduled to take place on
July 12-17, 2009. The tour route has not been finalized but it will
probably include the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, Fred Meijer Flat
River Trail, Saginaw Valley Trail, Bay City Trail, Pere Marquette
Trail and White Pine Trail. Tentative overnight stops include Clare,
Reed City and Rockford. There is also a weekend tour on July 11 & 12,
2009 on the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail."

Based on that data, I'm speculating that the long-rumored circular
Michigander route will become a reality this year. In an email to one
of my ride-mates, I've come up with the following possible route:
Saturday: Greenville to Edmore (22 miles)
Sunday: Edmore to Greenville (end 2 day) to Rockford (for 6/7 day) (47
miles)
Monday: Rockford to Reed City (approx. 60 miles)
Tuesday: Reed City to Clare (43 miles)
Wednesday: Clare to Bay City (52 miles)
Thursday: Bay City to Chesaning (43 miles)
Friday: Chesaning to Greenville (57 miles)

This would be a longer day than they normally schedule for Friday, but
without the need to get people to the finish line for the post-ride
shuttle back to the start point, the length of that last day is a lot
more flexible. Of course, this is all just speculation on my part,
we'll see what the actual route is when it's published "soon".

Looking forward to the ride again this year, wherever it may roam!
