Never will you see him coming
Hiding unnoticed in shadows dark
Only when you least expect him
He comes calling and leaves his mark.

You dare to dream of that "someone"
It's said good ones come far and few
Only too late do you discover
The total made does not you include.

Total fear of agony, loss and denial
Fills you to your very soul
You beg for that "one more chance"
To make your total whole.

Normal thoughts fall by the wayside
Plans and schemes become your creed
If you just do this or just do that
Then surely his love will set you free.

Pride is not too high a price
But friend, it matters not how hard you bleed.
You see Cupids little green brother
Has also done well his dirty deed.

Concealed in bouquets and candy
Cupids arrow pierces your heart
Little green brother's arrows of jealousy
Slowly rips your heart apart.

Time is the cure friends tell you
Slowly your shattered heart will mend
Then across the room one night you see him
And once more it begins again.
