how about using a 'b' for westside as it's actually referred to as bestside
around these parts? ;)

Just make sure to use small n, w, or s for the zone code -  unless you’re in the east zone – then use “E” (only the east zone uses a capital letter)

Did you see the "(actually this was my error)"? It was the only
difference between the zone uploads, but it was an oversight on my part.
Geez! Can't take a joke?

It sounds like it is up and running smoothly. Remember that if you vote
on line you relinquish your opportunity to vote for a specific person at
the meeting. In the case where there is only one candidate, if you wish
to vote for ANYONE OTHER THAN the current nominee you can vote for
"Nominee #2", and your vote will go to the member nominated from the
floor, at the meeting. The quantity of "Nominee #2" ballots will be
split equally between them if there are two or more nominees for that
position from the floor.

Give me a call at 651-484-5035 if you're still having 'issues', and
can't log in.

OK everyone. Sorry for the snafu

After clicking on the "Click this button to vote" fill out the First
Name, Last Name, member number (Let me know if you need your number),
and when you get to the 'zone' field, the North, West and South zones
use a 'n', 'w', or 's' for this field. Since the East Zone won the MIder
Cup (actually this was my error), the East zone uses a 'E' for their zone.

If you have been able to access and did not vote for some reason it will
ask you to log in at least an hour from when you closed the poll.

Sorry for the confusion.

So simple and easy! good work Snelly and BOD for putting this together...I do
hope we can put in further checks to prevent voting fraud such as using a
registered email address / mailing address or something other than mfa # and
zone as that information is shared publicly already. If ACORN gets a hold of
that, watch out!

now where's my "I VOTED" sticker?

Is there a reason that they don't let individuals sponsor signs for Kaposia?
I haven't seen any plans for revisions of the course but I feel sure that many
holes won't change. Kaposia is very run down and it deserves some love.

   With the election coming us fast it makes me think of the things a new pres
should be doing.

  We need to get involved more in High Schools. Disc golf has issues with other
sports and short seasons due to the school year but it really needs to grow at
this level. My son, for instance, can't really play any tournaments other than
in Late August/ early Sepember due to conflicts with baseball and football.
Having a pres work on this would be big.

  Growing at the college level is another area to be addressed. If bike polo can
get organized we can also. From talking to students on the course it seems very
few college age people know that the MFA exists. Organised events and outreach
can be expanded.

Kaposia is the most run down course of all that are played. This is coming from
people that are out of state.

Yep- that's what I got too. I tried upper case, lower case, just first letter
upper case. I tried the same for my zone... just in case it was finiky (however

Thank you to all the veterans out there on this board, or to members who have relatives who are veterans.

All politics aside, you are appreciated for your sacrifices.

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

Jordan Sorenson for MFA President

First of all I would like to thank all of the amazing members of this incredible club.  Watching what the MFA can do when motivated really helped my love of disc sports grow and want to get involved.  So thank you to all of the volunteers and quite contributors who help keep the tradition of this club moving forward every day.

One of the main reasons that I am running for President is to help create a more organized structure and add more accountability for all elected officials.  I feel that the club as a whole has great intentions but we just need to hone our energy and emotions in a way to better to facilitate the growing number of disc sport participants.

I would like to see us branch out and create a partnership with the Twin Cities Ultimate League to where we can get involved in any capacity.  I think that the MFA does an excellent job promoting disc golf throughout the state, but what about the other disc disciplines?

I want the website become more user friendly and provide more information on club officials and proceedings while staying savvy to the eye.  With better organization and navigation we can reach so many who are looking to get involved with local disc sports.  People who want to get involved are people who volunteer and being a club run on volunteers we would welcome the help!

I would also like to see the implementation of an MFA Facebook page.  I understand that the MFA yahoo online is a vital part for a lot of us to stay connected.  By adding Facebook we will have the ability to reach a lot of the same audience as well as tap into the vast network of disc golfers all over the world with updates on the club activites.

In addition to creating better outreach I would like to see us get more recreational disc golfers involved.  I think it is a little tragic that most people sign up for the PDGA before the MFA.  I would like to see the creation of a MSL (Minnesota State League)  this would be run like an MST where people who are participating in local leagues can now earn points (separate from MST and MDS) for an overall MFA points championship.  By creating something like this it will entice non MFA and PDGA members to get excited about playing competitively outside the expense of a PDGA MST sanctioned event.  This idea is still in the planning stage but I feel it can be vital step to help grow the base of our club and provide guidance to those who want to get involved with the disc community in any capacity.

In summation this club is part of a proud tradition, a tradition that has generated numerous friendships and partnerships all because of the mutual love for a flying disc.  I promise to honor where the MFA has come from and support its growth in the future it whatever capacity.  Remember it takes many to affect change but one to peruse it.  Please support me as your president and I will work hard to promote what the MFA has to offer in every aspect of disc sports with your help.

I am greatful for you vote. . .

Thank you

Jordan Sorenson
