I bought a Trek 7.2fx for my first Mermaid triathalon
last year in Santa Cruz. It was AWESOME!!! It got me
up and down all the hills and has good speed and
transition. Very easy. My best friend, however, just
borrowed a ten speed from someone and had it tuned up
and fitted to her and it worked great! She did both
the track in Fremont and Santa Cruz with that bike.
From what I know of Fremont, the track is totally flat
so you could easily find something on Craig's List for
a decent price and just get it nice and tuned up and
fit for you. It'll be fine what ever you choose and
have a great time!!! I did!!!
