Hi everyone...
As you will all know, southbank is an issue for cyclist and pedestrian
conflicts.
Recently the council lifted it's cycling ban and replaced the dismount
signs with speed limit 10kph signs.
There is currently a trial underway to see if this fixes the problems
that have been reported.
Last week a 7 year old girl was hospitalised after being hit by a
cyclist outside Crown Casino.
I have been down to southbank during morning and evening peak hour and
I have noticed some cyclists travelling at speeds I consider to be too
fast.
What can we do?
I am considering a little xerocracy exercise, perhaps with the
consent/approval of Melbourne BUG. Would you be willing to help me
between 6:30 and 9:30am (or any part thereof) the week after Critical
Mass?
I can design and print flyers.
I promise to make them sound a bit nicer than BV's latest press
release about cyclists without lights.
