The design of the new singletrack trail in Bear Creek Park off 21st Street is complete and marked on the ground. You can see a draft map and more information on the MW web site here. Now all we need to do is build it! Many thanks to Criterium Bike Shop, Pro Cycling, TOPS, and Kris Korteum for donating the $4,000 cost of the trail design.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering to build this new trail is welcome. No experience is needed.
Our first trail building day is going to be this Saturday, June 23. We will meet at the pavilion in Bear Creek Park off Argus and 21st Street here. It is the first picnic shelter on your left as you drive into the park. We will meet at 8:30 am to look at the maps, walk the trail, and organize trail crews and scheduling for future trail building. We may even build some trail. Expect to be there until about noon.
If you would like to help, please send me an email letting me know. Even if you can't make Saturday, we may be out on Sunday as well.
This is going to be an exciting addition to the riding in Colorado Springs. I look forward to seeing you there.

PS - Even if you don't feel up to volunteering, MW is still accepting donations toward funding the contractor-built portions of the trail. Email me for more information.
