Dear Medicine Wheel,

IMBA and its affiliated club partners, Bicycle Colorado, Colorado Trail Foundation, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) have a two events coming in the near future- a big National Public Lands Day celebration on the Colorado Trail in Buffalo Creek (9/29 -10/1) and the BLM/IMBA/Bicycle Colorado Mountain Bike Summit in Gunnison (10/13 - 10/15).  Both are great opportunities for mountain bike leaders and agency personnel to share knowledge, improve mountain biking experiences, and have a great time.  Read on below for more detailed information and registration instructions.  Please pass this email along to your peers- more and better trails are right around the corner!

The 3rd Annual Buffalo Creek Epic Weekend
Join us for the 3rd Annual Buffalo Creek Epic Celebration hosted by Team Evergreen, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the Front Range Mountain Bike Patrol, Colorado Mountain Bike Association, IMBA, the Colorado Trail Foundation, the Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance, and Bicycle Colorado.  For the last two years more than 200 mountain bikers have picked up tools at this event, finishing much needed reroutes on the Gashouse Gulch and Green Mountain Trails.

This year, with the support of the Colorado Trail Foundation, we’ll be tackling some eroding portions of the Colorado Trail.  All work and no play- no way!  Saturday afternoon guided rides and a Sunday Epic Ride for every ability are planned.  And what to pay- a little sweat, a big smile, and fresh riding legs is all we ask.

For more details, directions, and registration instructions, surf your way to: http://www.isidb.com/epic/

BLM lands are home to some of Colorado’s world-class trails.  A vital component to this success is world-class partnerships.  IMBA, Bicycle Colorado, and Colorado BLM recently signed an agreement that seeks to expand and improve the trail experiences currently offered around the state.

Would you like to see a singletrack, loop-based trail system for riders of all abilities near you?  This event will provide direction on the BLM’s trails and travel management planning processes, highlight the partnership successes from around the State, and provide networking opportunities with your local BLM officials.  And, of course, we’ll do a fair bit of sampling the Gunnison area’s spectacular trails.

Great education, great riding, and great potential for Colorado’s mountain biking future! Cost for the event is $25.
