After weeks of dry weather, we finally have some rain. Too much rain, unfortunately. The soils in Cheyenne Mountain State Park tend to hold a lot of moisture and become very mucky, making trail work and even access difficult for several days after a good soaking.
After getting inches of rain over the last few days, and after talking with the park manager, we have decided that the smart thing to do will be to postpone our volunteer trail building day. We are currently looking at early August, and will let you know when we have an exact date scheduled.
Thank you for volunteering. We really appreciate it and hope to see you on the rescheduled work day.

PS. If any of you would like to volunteer on a less formal basis, or you just don't want to wait until August, we do have one or two trail volunteers working in the park almost every weekend who can show you what to do. Please email me if you would like more information.
