Greetings,
The 2004 summer season of trail work is on!
The first Medicine Wheel trail work day will be on Monday, May 24th,
6:30 pm at Ute Valley Park. The meeting place will be the parking
lot on Vindicator.
This is the first of the weekly work sessions in Ute Valley, and as
such, will be mostly deciding on which portions of the trails need
the most work, and prioritizing that work. It should also be a great
learning experience for the new volunteers running this series of
work days, so please be patient as they tackle this very important
task.
This is just the start, and there should be a work session in Ute
Valley Park every Monday for the majority of the summer, especially
if enough people show up to make it a success.
So, for those of you who having been waiting for trail work to start,
now is the time. Other trail work opportunities are coming up almost
every day. Keep an eye out for more information about those events,
they're coming up fast.
Are you folks who volunteered to run the work days in Palmer Park and
Cheyenne Canon ready to go? Please get in touch with me to start
making the arrangements for the start of the trail work series in
each of those parks.
We have a lot going on. Lot's of momentum, and quite a few new
people to the list (welcome by the way). So let's get out there
and sling some dirt.
Happy Trails,
Phil Yearsley
