Greetings Medicine Wheel Volunteers,
We at Medicine Wheel have recently had some discussions about the topics of some of the emails which have been posted lately, as well as this morning's blatant spam, and we have decided to do something about it.
First off, we apologize for the spam. It occurred without our knowledge or approval, and the so-called "member" who posted it has been banned and brought to the attention of Yahoo. Up until today, our Medicine Wheel email list has been unmoderated, with the exception that posts could only be made by members.
The good news is that Medicine Wheel now has almost 150 members! However, we have decided that it may be time to approve posts to the email list before they go out to you, the volunteers. We would prefer not to have to do this, but we feel that it will protect our volunteers from the kind of unacceptable email that they received today.
If you want to post messages to the entire group just send an email to medicine_wheel_PPR@yahoogroups.com . We just ask that it be related to mountain cycling advocacy in the pikes peak region or other subjects that may be of interest to other local mountain cycling advocates. If you have any questions about what to post, you can look here for more guidance:
We really don't want to discourage the free flow of ideas, but if there is a posting that we feel is inappropriate for this list, we'll contact the sender and talk about it before we send it out to the rest of you. We thank you all for being on our email list, and we want to keep you informed about what's happening locally.
Thanks again for all your hard work keeping the trails open to cyclists. If you have any ideas you would like to bring up, please contact any one of us at the addresses on this page: http://www.medwheel.org/allabout.html
