Greetings!
We had a 15 hard working people come out and help us for the first
trail work session that we've ever had in Stratton Open Space.
We won't count that work last year that we did on that "hiking
only" trail last year. :^) Which is what broke the ice as far
as working in Stratton, most likely.
We did some major drainage improvements on the trail we call
"Mr. Twister". That runs from the new Chamberlain Trail (try
this trail out if you haven't yet) down to the Ponderosa Trail.
This trail was a running creek after the spring snows, and was
in dire need of maintenence.
This work day was sponsored by Bristol Brewing Co., The King's
Chef diner, and Criterium Bike Shop. We gave away a Bristol
Laughing Lab hat, some nice cycling socks, and gift certificates
for food from the Chef, and Zio's. The weather was cloudy and
cool (the best for trail work), and a good time was had by all.
Especially for the crowd who ended up at Bristol's afterwards.
Thanks to all who turned out. Check on the trail work schedule
for updates to the new series of work days that we will be having
at the new Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Help us build sustainable
technical singletrack. You'll be hearing more about that soon.
Happy Trails!
