With apologies to Huey Lewis, the News, and their great song... Come to the open water meet where you swim in a 25 yard by 25 yard square!
The second annual open water event will be held on August 22, 2009 in Pocomoke City, MD. The concept is an introduction to open water swimming held in a swim meet style. Swimmers will swim distances, in heats of six to eight, of 100, 200 or 400 yards in a square shape of buoys with lane ropes strung between them. Each stroke will be offered as well as individual medleys and relays. We'll also offer a 1/2 mile swim, all in a clean fresh-water pond behind the Lower Shore YMCA.
