The Pocomoke Open Water Swim Meet
After the great success of last year's inaugural meet and crowning of the Wesley Cup champion, this year's event will be held on August 22, 2009 in Pocomoke City, MD. The concept is an introduction to open water swimming held in a swim meet style. Swimmers will swim distances, in heats of six, of 100, 200 or 400 yards in a square shape of buoys with lane ropes strung between them. Each stroke will be offered as well as individual medleys and relays. We'll also offer a 1/2 mile swim in a clean fresh-water pond behind the Lower Shore YMCA.
